Hey babes! So we know that we've mentioned that we're cat ladies (like big time, see #CatLadyChic for more proof) and this is going to be that post about the animals of a charity we are heavily involved with called Lost Our Home Pet Rescue. (Of course the fashion aspect will always be involved.) This does not mean we discriminate against puppies at all! Furry babies are everything. But cats are bae ;) (CLICK. LAUGH. REPEAT)
Before we jump into the wonderful brunch/ fundraiser (which of course was documented on our snapchat stories) from this past weekend at the Arizona Biltmore and what to wear, we want to share a little bit of #LOH's journey. This post will have all of the good and bad mixed together, because when furry kids are involved, the heart strings are tugged and sometimes the information is not always pretty.
As we all know #StyleUnicorns, animals need advocates. This is exactly what #LOH has provided for the animals, a charity that began as a grassroots effort when the economy hit a snag in 2008. With multiple foreclosures and people abandoning their homes, the animals of Arizona were left in the middle of the chaos with nowhere to turn.
According to AZ Care, Arizona has one of the highest euthanasia rates in the country. This past fiscal year alone, 13,432 animals were euthanized. Pretty staggering, huh? This is where foundations like #LOH and Arizona Humane Society come in to stay on the frontline, continue to raise awareness and emphasize the importance of spay/neuter programs.
Be the voice and help give these furry friends A New Leash on Life!
