"That is so fetch!"
- Gretchen Weiners -
Hi lovelies! :) As always welcome back to #SmartBlondes! PS Mean Girls references will be made a lot today and sassy barbs will be thrown ;) ...I mean does she even go here? So to kick off this post, it's all about Denim! Denim nation. Double denim. Denim on denim. Denimoholic.
No matter the label, denim is one of the IT trends of spring. You can rock low-slung and bedazzled jeans or mid-rise skinnies with a button down chambray top. This trend has been around forever and it's not going anywhere anytime soon. Some might think double denim is a fashion oops but when done right, it can look amazing! #unicorning
Leslie: #Unicorning indeed, Hi pretties! As Lindsey mentioned earlier, denim is chic! Something I actually didn't believe her on, but I proved myself wrong and dare I say made the look a little sexy ;) I channeled a little bit of Kylie Jenner (insert her sold out everywhere cape dress and over-the-knee boots here. Sigh) to make this look work for my style. I decided to go with a denim dress with thigh high boots and a cat purse (we all know I heart the fur babies) to play with the elements, add a little bit of that contemporary vibe. If you want to dress it up a little more you can swap out the gold choker for a rhinestone layered look that comes as a set from Forever 21...I never told anybody that because I'm such a good friend. #grool
"That's why her hair is so big, it's full of secrets."
"My Nana takes her wig off when she's drunk...your Nana and I have that in common."
"The greatest people you will ever meet."
"Cold, shiny, hard plastic."
Lindsey: Hey #StyleUnicorns As an avid collector of denim, I'm a huge fan of this trend. As long as the washes and fit work, this look is a go to. I chose to rock double denim with similar washes in more of a blue hue. No one wants to look like they just stepped out of the 80s when they try this trend, (OMG I love your skirt! Vintage, so adorable) so it's all in the details to pull it off in 2016! Can you believe it, it's 2016?! (Ahem, I digress lol)
Lindsey: The fringe shoes and the snakeskin clutch both help to modernize the look. The open toe and light color of the heels keep it casual with a daytime vibe. And the fringe ties around the ankle just look super fun and funky! You could even try a red lip if you're daring or want to add some color. Denim on denim can be done so many ways and it's so easy to make it look modern and trendy. Celebs are throwing their double denim around like crazy right now! Let's join the denim girl gang ladies! 👊🏻 I wanna see some fleek in the streets #StyleUnicorns!
And as the lovely, slightly salty yet ever-so-chic Regina George would say...
